ILE

NINA SKY
In 2004, recording artists Nicole and Natalie Albino better known as Nina Sky blazed the music scene with their unique sound; a fusion of hip hop, r&b, pop and reggae. The identical twin’s infectious debut song, “Move Ya Body” and follow-up tracks “Turning Me On,” and “Oye Mi Canto,” not only became club anthems, but propelled the group to Billboard chart success and collaborations with Grammy Award-winning artists and producers including Bruno Mars, Diplo, Major Lazer, Rick Ross, Betty Wright, Aventura, Sean Paul, and Salaam Remi.
Following the success of their major label debut, Nina Sky, the New York City-based Puerto Rican duo have been traveling the world touring and garnering global recognition while perfecting their artistry. Their independently released projects The Other Side (2010), and Nicole and Natalie (2012) received coverage from numerous outlets including SPIN, The Fader, Pitchfork, Vice, MTV, and VIBE.
“We’ve been performing around the world endlessly since we were teenagers,” says Natalie. “It has not only opened our eyes culturally but has inspired our music over the years. Nicole and I have grown tremendously since our first album and are excited to share our new tunes.“

Now as married women, Natalie is a new mom and has taken on the role as the lead singer and songwriter for the group. For the last decade Nicole has honed her skills as a producer and notable DJ—curating music and spinning for some of the world’s most iconic brands including Nike, Opening Ceremony, Christie’s, The Glaad Media Awards, and Cavalli. Their progression artistically is evident not only sonically but is displayed as their ever-changing sense of style has developed them into fashion icons both on the New York City scene and in pages of fashion magazines.

“It’s an amazing feeling for us to still live out our dreams while staying true to who we are as artists,” says Nicole. “We’re truly blessed to not only do what we love, but to have a supportive fan base that have shown us love throughout the years no matter what.”

Nina Sky continues to prove that the sky is most definitely the limit. The group was recently enlisted by London-based producer TroyBoi for his 2015 smash hit, “Afterhours,” which also features Diplo and has 11.8 million plays on SoundCloud and over 7 million views on YouTube. With experience, self-awareness, and an array of musical projects under their belt, the twins are ready to re-connect with their fans on a massive level with their new single, “Champion Lover” slated for a summer 2016 release via Tommy Boy Records.

REY PILA
As native sons of the bustling, bursting megalopolis of Mexico City, the four members of Rey Pila know a thing or two about striking a balance between order and chaos and dark and light. The band have spent the last several years perfecting their unique blend of dark synth pop and gloomy dance rock from the busy streets and sequestered creative spaces of their hometown to their beloved New York City’ s legendary studios and hallowed halls, plus countless other stages around the world. With two full-length albums and multiple other releases as well as tours supporting luminaries like Interpol, Brandon Flowers, and The Rentals under their belt, and having had their work produced, promoted, and put out by A-list flag-wavers Julian Casablancas (The Strokes, Cult Records) and Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House), Rey Pila—which means “ King Battery” in Spanish—are fully charged to release a new EPof four brand new tracks this spring and take 2017 by storm.
Rey Pila’ s frontman and driving force, Diego Solórzano, started the band as a solo project in2009 following the breakup of his previous act, Los Dynamite. Writing and producing songsinhis home studio, he eventually hired the trio of musicians Andrés Velasco, Rodrigo Blanco, and Miguel “ Mikey” Hernández (the latter with whom he had played in his former band) to play the songs live with him on a tour. Recognizing their organic fit, similar attitudes and influences, and easy, cohesive groove, it wasn’ t long before Rey Pila became a proper four-piece. Citing inspiration from the fusion of synthesizers and guitars embraced by acts like The Cars, Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin, and Boards of Canada, the band began to find their sound by filtering that style through their own musical worldview—which could only come from a melting pot like Mexico City—and embellishing that with their knack for writing catchy, danceable tunes.

NINA DIAZ
Almost two decades ago, on January 9, 1998, musician Nina Diaz was heartbroken to learn her grandmother had passed away. Exactly 15 years later, on that same date, Nina was writing new material when she felt someone watching over her. “I was using that night and felt this crazy energy,” says Nina, who had been battling substance and drug addiction for years. She did this, unassumingly, while fronting Girl in a Coma, the critically hailed indie-punk band that was famously nurtured by Joan Jett, had opened for Morrissey and Tegan and Sara, and earned multiple Independent Music Awards. Adds Nina, “I knew it was my grandmother.”
She ended up naming that mid-tempo, balladic song “January 9th.” Though that track doesn’t necessarily typify the eclectic sound of The Beat Is Dead, her debut solo release, it does set the album’s bittersweet tone. “On the demo, you can hear somebody whisper words before I sing them,” Nina says. She’s pretty sure that was the ghost of her grandmother singing with her. Two months later, Nina became clean for good.
Many albums capture the flood of introspection that comes after a life-changing experience. But The Beat Is Dead (out October 28 on Cosmica Records)—an expansive body of work that sonically references musicals, alt-metal, indie pop, new wave—powerfully chronicles Nina’s journey itself. “This album is the story of my addiction and my sobriety,” she says. Some songs were written while using, some in the infancy of going clean, some looking back months later with clarity. “It’s like I shed a lot of different layers of skin during this process.”
The Beat Is Dead, produced by both Nina and Manuel Calderon (who engineered Girl in a Coma’s Trio B.C.), didn’t start out that way. While working on new material for her band, Nina penned the rousing “Trick Candle.” As with any other Girl in a Coma song, she fleshed it out with her bandmates, drummer Phanie Diaz (Nina’s sister) and bassist Jenn Alva. “I’m the writer, but our songs really are group efforts,” Nina says. “We jammed it out, but it didn’t feel right. It wasn’t what I envisioned.” What followed were a few difficult, but ultimately supportive, conversations about Nina taking on solo projects between Girl in a Coma albums. “It was a little rough at first. People were scared—I was scared!” she says. “But I knew I just needed to do this.”
Allowing herself to express these rushes of emotion liberated Nina artistically. “After you’ve made a fool of yourself by treating yourself like I did while I was using and drinking, everything after that is, like, nothing,” she says. “‘Why not try this? Why not do that?’” With this abandon, she willfully drew on all of her influences: They didn’t have to speak to an overall sound; they just had to make sense in the moment. “Each song has its own message, its own energy,” she adds. What began, in her mind, as a five-track EP, grew into something epic. All told, it took her three years to assemble The Beat Is Dead.
Along the way, many demons were exorcised. Upon first listen, “Queen Beats King” seems to be a wistful, ’80s synth-take. “But it’s actually about me being enchanted by a suave guy—then all of a sudden, I’m in hell. Then I find a light. I get myself out of it.” She continues to explore that resolve with “For You,” about surrendering to post-sobriety spirituality, and the punk-cabaret “Rebirth.” “I’m back from the dead / Like I told you friend / I will not love you till you are my enemy,” she sings. “It became a mantra,” Nina says. “When you know yourself, that’s when you can hate yourself the most. But that’s part of being reborn. No birth is easy. It’s painful.”

y iTunes. Actualmente el duo está presentando “Loving Me” segundo sencillo del EP “Over You” editado en We Dont Play Gtrs, el cual se estrena con un video de animación en el canal de YouTube de We Don’t Play Gtrs. LOLAA
Lex Valentine and Nadia Valerie King emerged in 2016 as LOLAA, releasing their debut single, "Always Been" [Spotify | iTunes], featuring backing vocals from '90s dance icon, Simone Denny of Love Inc., and performing live in Toronto, supporting acts such as Tkay Maidza, MSTRKRFT, Helado Negro, Puro Instinct, and Fear of Men, garnering features in Remezcla, Toronto Star, Indie 88 and NOW Magazine. King and Valentine had spent the better part of a decade as two-thirds of Toronto's Magneta Lane, a project begun in high school, releasing their debut record at just 16. When 2015 rolled around, Nadia and Lex were ready for something new, and began their writing sessions in the studio with producer, Jon Drew (F*cked Up/Tokyo Police Club). Combining their experience and skill as songwriters with the cultural influences that had lay dormant in their previous work, the sisters found the warmth and colour of freedom that laid the groundwork for LOLAA - drums, bass, movement, rhythm, pop-infused vocals and no-limits songwriting. LOLAA in its current form takes inspiration from Latin American/80's pop music/icons: Daniela Romo, Gloria Estefan, Kim Carnes, Laura Branigan, Debbie Harry, as well as the discotheque era: Donna Summer, Bianca Jagger, the lightness, the elegance, the dancing. Simply put — it's POP Music. The project became a mix of all the ideas the sisters had in their heads, a cultural collide of sounds. King and Valentine are of Mexican descent and have always considered this to be an integral part of their identities as people. "The thing about Latin Americans is that our culture is so colourful. We are always smiling and laughing, we love to dance, we feel immensely - passion, sadness - we celebrate life. We wanted LOLAA to have these ideas at its core, no matter what shape the songs took," Valentine explains. LOLAA takes its name from the Spanish name Dolores (Lola), meaning "Lady of Sorrows." It has been used in the English-speaking world since the 19th century. Their debut EP LOLAA, was released on May 22, 2017.

AVANTIST
AVANTIST BY DEFINITION... is to be an Avant Gardist and this term aptly describes the post rock music churned out by four brothers from Chicago. Good art is of war, toil and struggle and the art produced by the brothers in Avantist is eclectic, hard-hitting, infectious, comical and even unpredictable at times. Having little prior musical experience, the brothers have drawn inspiration from everything in their lives, ranging from film, brotherly fracas, and the sound of their father's classically trained Mariachi voice. The result is that Avantist brings you something unique that transcends the singular sub-genre of post rock while still remaining relevant and entertaining. Avantist "Tidalwave" music video.

 BLACK BEAR RODEO
The story starts with Juan Bonham, he was smuggled over here from a foreign land by his parents at the age of 16. He soon realized that his forearm muscles have developed exceptionally well due to the constant lonely yet furious masturbation and stranger sessions and that he needed to use this to his advantage, so he picked up the drums. His natural masturbation trained speed with the sticks was instant and people took notice. He started playing in all kinds of bands and then about a decade later met Big Gay.
Big Gay was fairly big but definitely super gay. He was not a homosexual though, to be clear, just super, super gay. One day Big Gay lost his job and wanted to start a band. Eventually he met Juan Bonham through mutual friends.
Twink was a master at the video games and the manipulation of unsuspecting womens. After a couple decades of this practice he ended up meeting Big Gay and Juan Bonham at local acoustic open mic nights that Big Gay ran.
And Thus, Black Dick Radio was born.
However, when it came to record an album only after being together for 2 months they felt there wasn’t enough material so Big Gay wrote a song on the spot in the studio called Cut The Strings. Big Gay sucks at piano though so he called Poopy Face up. Poopy immediately came in and improved the piano section and fell right into place. Poopy has been playing with the band since.
